Established in 1962, Poway Unified School District (PUSD) has built an impressive reputation for itself over the last five decades. About Poway Unified School District
PUSD is the third largest school district in San Diego County and twenty-first largest in California. PUSD serves approximately 35,500 students! Aside from its traditional public education program, PUSD also offers preschool, before and after school programs, alternative education, and more.
The school district serves kids living in Poway, Carmel Mountain Ranch, Rancho Bernardo, Torrey Highlands, Rancho Peñasquitos, Sabre Springs, Del Sur, and 4S Ranch. PUSD has an outstanding reputation for academics! Over the years the district has collected many awards and honors. PUSD was named a California Exemplary School District in 2019 and many teachers and administrators have been nominated for prestigious awards. Most recently, sixteen PUSD Schools were named to California’s 2019 Honor Roll! The California Honor Roll recognizes schools and school districts that have demonstrated consistently high levels of student academic achievement, improvement, and a reduction in achievement gaps among the students.
